Our client based in London is an established leaflet distribution, fulfilment, postage, direct mail, print and design company, they have a broad client base including; online, SME's, retailers, councils and blue chip clients.

The company have been growing from strength to strength and increase turnover significantly in the last few years. They are looking for a growth orientated and proactive Production Manager with a focus on modernising processes and improvement optimisation. Reporting to the Head of Finance and Business Operations the successful candidate with have 5 direct reports and 4 indirect reports (shop floor).

Key Purpose

  • To organise, manage and lead our production team in line with the management programme
  • Responsible for all data, print and production both mail and unaddressed
  • Manage the operational documents for our London Leaflets service including street instructions and reports (GPS and missed properties)
  • Manage third party mailing house
  • Identify, recommend and implement process improvements to maximise cost effectiveness and deliver outstanding customer service
  • Lead the team with clarity, enthusiasm and passion

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan ahead to ensure print and production SLA's are achieved, overseeing the movement of jobs through our management information system (MIS)
  • Manage the outsourced mailing house partner, monitoring SLA's, managing stock, understanding capabilities and building an excellent relationship
  • Run the team in line with the values, guided by the performance management programme and strategy
  • Responsible for Mailsort and management of our preferred mailing providers
  • Work effectively with other managers to run the business on a day-to-day business

Qualifications & Experience

  • Excellent direct mail, print and fulfilment knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of Mailsort software, Planet Press and other operational software
  • Good knowledge of Xerox print equipment, folding and enclosing
  • A history of leading and inspiring teams to achieve their objectives

IT Experience

  • Good understanding of Microsoft products
  • Knowledge of data and data processing an advantage
  • Use to working within MIS / CRM systems

Skills & Competencies

  • Plan, organise and control under pressure
  • Comfortable working in fast paced environments (the company offers a 24hr turnaround)
  • Calm, considered and an analytical thinker
  • Able to understand and address the root cause of a problem.
  • Willing to learn and embrace new skills
