PRODUCTION MANAGER – PRINT OR PACKAGING


HIGH PEAK


£35-40K + Benefits 


Hours: Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 5pm


Our Client is a well-established, well invested & profitable UK manufacturer with additional European manufacturing facilities at their disposal. They have invested heavily in new equipment and facilities at the company premises and have seen steady growth of year on year for the last 5 years.

They are currently looking for a Production Manager to join their team. This is a hands on Senior Management role, dealing with day-to-day site management whilst driving efficiencies across site through continuous improvement in line with Company growth targets and operational objectives. You will be supported by 2 Assistant Managers and will be responsible for a team of circa 40 Operatives on rotating shifts.

Key Tasks:  

    Day to day site management and compliance with good manufacturing processes 

    Direct line management and associated tasks, including coaching and development of employees 

    Measurement and review of production measures / KPI’s including set up, run speeds, wastage, down time etc 

    Day to day technical support and project management including trials, working closely with the Technical Manager 

    Management of maintenance projects and priorities / requirements 

    Overall responsibility for consumables, including purchasing and stock levels

    Implementation of site standards, utilising a 5s system or similar and overall responsibility for maintaining a high level of hygiene and housekeeping standards

    Working with the HR Manager on employee relations, including recruitment, welfare, disciplinaries / grievances and training 

    Optimisation of staffing levels and weekly manning and assistance with job planning 

    Accountability for manufacturing quality products to meet customer specifications 

    Responsibility for quality concerns and corrective and preventative action being completed in a timely manner 

    Attend quality and management meetings as required 

    Assist with Company standards including BRC, Colour Management and ensuring health and safety standards are maintained at all times

Job Requirements: 

    Technical capabilities and knowledge of the manufacturing production and processes 

    IOSH qualification or equivalent

    Quality management; writing of SOP’s etc 

    Experience of manufacturing management and the ability to lead and motivate others

    Problem solving / communication skills 

    IT and numerical skills, including Excel 

    Organisational skills
