PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - PRINT AND PACKAGING

WEST YORKSHIRE

Hours: 6.30am - 2pm Monday to Thursday, 6.30am - 12:30pm Friday / 2pm - 9pm Monday to Thursday / 2pm - 5.30pm Friday

Our client offers a complete printing and packaging service as a one stop shop for a variety of markets. They are currently recruiting for a Supervisor to join their busy team.

Shop Floor Duties

  • Staff management; have an authoritative presence on the shop floor to manage and influence all staff under your supervision.
  • Delegate to other staff members making sure deadlines are hit and daily tasks are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Monitor time and attendance.
  • Carry out routine quality and throughput checks.
  • Work with management to set KPI's for each shift and then work to achieve them.
  • Document the issuing of PPE and equipment.
  • Ensure that the shop floor housekeeping is to a high standard and a safe working environment using the 5S system and other company controls.
  • Work with the labouring and warehouse team to ensure consumables and raw materials are consistently available to production.
  • Monitor waste and document any losses; introduce improvements where needed.
  • Report any short falls, machine issues and general issues to the management.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Oversee/sign off quality checks before each run.
  • Ensure weekly/daily maintenance is carried out and documented.
  • Quarantine any defective materials.
  • Work with the health/safety and quality team where needed.
  • Liaise with the purchasing team regarding any materials that may need replenishing.
  • Issue works orders/charts to production.
  • Work with management to implement any improvements to the shop floor or general workflow process that you/they feel will be beneficial.

Admin Duties

  • Manage and re-stock the die library, manually and systematically (ordering/liaising with the supplier).
  • Manage and re-stock the foil's, manually and systematically (ordering/liaising with the supplier).
  • Print and issue foil and emboss melonex for each Print Finishing job.
  • Create Print Finishing schedules by week/customer.
