QUALITY CONTROL ASSISTANT

Salary £OPEN (Genuinely Flexible on Experience) + Annual Pay Reviews

Hours: 37.5hrs per week - DAYS - There may be overtime required during busy periods, however O/T for this role would be rare

Our client is a manufacturer of printed folded cartons in the North West for the Pharmaceutical, Medical, Healthcare and Veterinary markets.

They are currently looking for a Quality Control Assistant to join their Quality Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check and sign off the Q. C. bags (paperwork + barcode sheet and inspect samples) attach final release label and sign off or reject and return to factory manager
  • Complete customer specific C of C's or C of A's. email or attached customer copies to job
  • Check the box labels against the Work Instructions and sign off the relevant paperwork
  • Check final release samples, accurately count customer requested samples
  • Place shipper labels and address labels on top of job
  • Sign off the green box on the pallet ticket
  • Post samples to the customer if applicable
  • Work to be glued - check conformance (Foil blocking, text, colour and size) insert WI number on Bobst gluing pass sheet for all outworks and complete the outwork sections
  • Glued work - take random samples and check quality
  • Check conformance (text, colour and size). Create a Q. C. bag
  • Verify and print out bar codes
  • Have a good Understand and help manage the CAPA / Improvement Process
  • Understand and follow the Quality Process Flow Chart, including CCP's
  • Conduct internal Audits as per the internal audit schedule
  • Ensure finished jobs are released promptly, with minimum backlog
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with training of new personnel
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with other relevant tasks
  • Respond to customer complaints in a timely manner
  • Raise and issue CAPA numbers and forms for non-conforming products with suppliers
  • Conduct calibration tasks as per the calibration schedule

Requirements:

  • The role can be physically demanding at times, therefore a good level of fitness will be required
  • An intermediate level of IT skills is required (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications with Customers, Suppliers and team members is a prerequisite
