QUALITY / HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER - ANY MANUFACTURING BACKGROUND

Hours of Work: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday (Flexible Start and Finish times)
Our client is a leading corrugated packaging sheet plant supplying to a variety of markets throughout the UK, they have made vast investment into the business over the past few years and have experienced significant growth and increase in workload.
Our client is currently looking to recruit a hands-on Quality and H&S Manager to join their team. You will be ensuring the correct functioning of the Quality Management and H&S Systems to achieve the plant objectives.
Our client will consider any manufacturing backgrounds however experience with NEBOSH and BRC Audits is essential
Key Responsibilities:
- Health and Safety of the site, Quality Admin, BRC Audits'
- Reporting to the Directors of the business
- Develop, maintain and improve the quality management system to align with best practices
- Elements of the quality system include but are not limited to quality planning, quality objectives and targets, documentation control, internal audits, external audits corrective action, process control and risk-based thinking
- Provide specialist guidance and support to senior management in the execution of strategic and tactical quality-related objectives
- Provide on-going communication and support to Team Leaders on important information on quality matters, workflows and best practices
- Be an integral part of the company's growth plan to ensure they are equipped and prepared for the journey
- Be the primary point of contact and manage internal, external and customer quality audits
- Serve as the liaison between external or customer auditors and site management
- Ensure audit plans and results are communicated and any resulting actions are assigned to appropriate resources
- Responsible for ensuring the manufacturing processes are within the customer defined limits and comply with all safety and quality parameters set out in the specification of the goods
- Manage the Corrective Action process and work with team members throughout the business to ensure corrective actions are raised, investigated and resolved in a timely manner
- Carry out risk assessments and fit for purpose testing on products to ensure products meet the required client standards, are safe and a quality to last the intended environment
- Lead the Quality Control team in Asia in an effective manner to ensure standards are met and compliance remains
- Ownership in reducing the level of defective and discrepant goods delivered through the warehouse
- Collaborate with NPD to set quality standards on new products and services
- Ensure supplier, internal and external bodies audits completed in date, in-line current legislations and the company remains compliant with ethical and capability requirements
- Governance of all quality and compliance related documentation
Requirements:
- Demonstrated success in quality and compliance within the packaging industry
- Experience in Quality Assurance and quality systems
- Experience of ethical auditing/ monitoring systems, e.g., SMETA, Ecovadis, Amfori BSCI
- Knowledge of sustainability agenda and impact on manufacturing and supply
- Excellent attention to detail when working under pressure
- Analyses problems skilfully; uses logic and good judgement to reach decisions
- Demonstrated success in solving complex, technical problems
- Excellent attention to detail when working under pressure
- Communicates knowledge clearly, accurately and thoroughly and works well with others; gets things done with people, and keeps information lines open at all levels
