ROYAL MAIL OPERATOR (LABELS) - PRINT AND MAILING

NOTTHINGHAMSHIRE

Salary: Up to £13.91 per hour (dependent on experience)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, working on a 3-shift rotation

Holidays: Starting at 22 days per year, increasing to 27 days with service

Overtime Rates: Mid-week: 1.5x hourly rate / Weekends: 1.75x hourly rate

Benefits: Death in Service benefit / NEST pension scheme / Free tea and coffee / Early finish on Fridays

Our client based in the Nottinghamshire area are specialists in print, mailing, direct marketing and personalised promotional materials and they are currently looking to increase their team with a Royal Mail Operator.

As a Royal Mail Operator (Labels), you will manage the operation of specialised Royal Mail equipment (e.g., Rotatek and CT Tag) to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety. Reporting directly to the Print Manager, this role demands technical skill, precision, and adherence to ISO 9001 standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and manage machine operations, ensuring correct job codes and versions.
  • Conduct efficient shift changeovers with clear communication.
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, stock checks, and re-order machine parts as needed.
  • Comply with Health & Safety regulations and maintain a tidy work environment.
  • Provide support across other machines during holiday or sickness cover.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately.
  • Coach and guide team members when necessary.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • City & Guilds or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • In-depth understanding of Health & Safety protocols.
  • Experience in continuous label printing and finishing.
  • Ability to work within Lean Manufacturing standards.
