SALES SURVEYOR - SIGNAGE

WEST MIDLANDS

£Open DOE + Commission + Profit Bonus Scheme + Car Allowance + Private Medical Insurance + Pension Scheme

Our client is a signage and displays company offering a wide range of products including internal and external signs, illuminated signs, wall signs, fascia signs, banners, vehicle graphics, and built-up letters. They offer a full service to the customer from site survey to design of the sign and then manufacture and installation.

The company started trading in the 1990's and has grown to become a leading national sign maker. The company prides itself on a slick customer service and has built an impressive portfolio of national and international clients.
The company has developed a powerful national marketing programme which is presently generating more customer enquiries than the existing sales team, of 6 people, can do justice to so they need to add to the team.

When they get an enquiry from a customer looking to organise a new sign for their business, they prefer to organise for a Sales Surveyor to go the client site to carry out a physical survey of the client site and to discuss with the client what signage solution would work best for them.

The survey involves measuring the area where the sign would go and making an assessment of what signs may need removing and how the new sign could best be fixed. The Surveyor will endeavour to understand what the customer is trying to achieve with their budget and will try to steer the customer to a solution that the company can offer.

Back in the office the Surveyor will prepare a price quotation as part of a signage proposal for the customer which may include a visual idea of what the new proposed sign would look like. If the customer goes ahead then the Surveyor will keep an eye on the job as it passes into design, then manufacture and finally installation. Some of the new customers will go on to become regular key accounts and the surveyor would be responsible for their account management.

What they are looking for:

First and foremost, they are looking for a professional sales person who will fit into a high performing sales team. They believe that they have the best team of sales professionals in their industry and we need to maintain those standards with the new recruit.

Most work can be carried out from Monday to Friday from about 8am until 5pm but sales people are always on call if the customer needs them.

Experience of signage and / or carrying out property surveys would be an advantage, but it is not essential. They feel confident that they could quickly train the new recruit in their well-established procedures.

Remuneration

In a sales role the pay will depend on your sales results and the company has no problem with high-earners achieving high sales results.

Desired Experience:

  • Signage experience is helpful but not essential
  • Sales experience is essential
  • Local to their head office in Staffordshire
  • Sales people spend about 50% of their time in the office and 50% out seeing clients
  • Clients can be based anywhere in England but the vast majority are within a 3 hour drive of the office
