Continental Shift Pattern

COMMUTABLE FROM: Northants / Cambs / Leicestershire

Our client is a Corrugated Packaging Manufacturer, they are currently seeking two Engineers (one mechanically biased and one electrically biased) to support the plant's maintenance team in performing mechanical and/or electrical planned and reactive maintenance to all internal customers across a wide range of cardboard manufacturing equipment to reach targets which meets the plants objective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Your main duties will include, all mechanical maintenance and machine repairs, carry out fault finding diagnostics, on all plant machinery including lifting mechanisms, pressure vessels, waste systems, hydraulics and conveyor systems, as well as carry out minor electrical repairs within your capacity
  • Following fault finding process, liaising with OEM's, TL's & Focus engineers, production personnel.
  • Logging all works and fault finding on Maximo and/or on a RCA
  • Attend daily team support meetings where required and provide feedback on maintenance related issues to operating teams
  • Work to PM schedules and undertake any corrective actions assigned by the Engineering
  • Manager or Maintenance Coordinator / Planner
  • Report any issues found to TL's, and logging works completed in Maximo
  • Report maintenance downtime issues as well as analyze equipment to improve performance
  • Undertake and lead small improvement programs as and when required
  • Feedback any issues or improvement suggestions to Engineering Manager
  • Take responsibility in assigned areas of ownership and provide a progress reports as required.
  • You will also be required to identify critical spares for designated machines and refurbish spares when required
  • Liaising with OEM's, TL's & Focus engineers, production personnel. Logging all works on Maximo and/or on a RCA
  • Undertake administration responsibilities within the role and liaise with manufactures and suppliers to procure materials and spares
  • You will also be required to work in a safe manner following all company policies and procedures and ensure all safety systems are in working order
  • Use dynamic risk assessments, Lock out tag out procedure, complete BSO tours, using contractor controls and support process, if in doubt use the CC permits to control own works
  • Primarily this role will be working on a 24/7 continental shift pattern (4 on 4 off), with the flexibility of covering training, projects and colleagues as required.
  • Engage in SPS / SMS program to improve and sustain good practices in this area
  • Complete all SMS / SPS schedules for PM's when tasks have been completed, use Maximo to log on and off jobs, support and complete RCA's when issued on your shift.
  • Provide as much details as possible to ensure you can improve reliability and / or reduce the risk of issues reoccurring
  • Act as responsible person on site and undertake contractor monitoring with regards to company guidelines and procedures
  • Utilize CMMS software (Maximo) to record reactive and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Keep up to date with all appropriate current and relevant practice by participating in training opportunities and information from technical and professional journals
