JOB TITLE: SLITTER / FINISHING OPERATOR
LOCATION: Cheshire: Also commutable from areas of Greater Manchester, Staffordshire and Derbyshire

SALARY: Attractive Salary (Circa £20-25K) + Pension + Overtime
HOURS: Continental Shifts 3X 12 Hour Shifts on a 4 week rotation (No Saturdays)
COMPANY: My client is a high-quality manufacturer of printed and plain, flexible packaging films and laminates, suitable for a variety of applications and products. Our client operates a fast-paced work environment with high standards.
THE ROLE: The responsibility of the Slitter / Finishing Operator is to slit finished materials, according to the daily production schedule and client specifications, in a safe and efficient manner.
Follows safe operating procedures and complies with all SOP guidelines to ensure that only the highest safety standard is maintained.
Performs tasks within acceptable limits for quality, quantity, sanitation, and timeliness of completion, paying particular attention to prevent and eliminate costly errors.
Maintains daily production quotas.
Reads and understands work orders.
Sets up and operates one or more slitting machines, core cutting machine or rewind machine to cut rolls of stock to specifications and wind or rewind as necessary
Checks and inspects material received from prior operations to verify accuracy and conformance to specifications on Sales Order Form
Complies with sanitation guidelines and good manufacturing practices related to neatness, product cleanliness and personal hygiene.
Maintains a neat and orderly work area, in accordance to 5S Standards
Performs basic operator preventative maintenance to machines and/or tools
Complies with Company policies and performing other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE: Operating any Printing Machinery or Finishing Machines will be beneficial but full training will be offered to those who have worked as Process or Machine Operators in any manufacturing setting. Has the ability to work and concentrate under pressure in a high-volume factory. A Forklift or Counterbalance Licence is also desirable to assist with the movement of stock around site.
