Salary Guide: £30K

Flexible depending on the level of candidate + 23 Days Holiday

Hours of work: 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday

Our client is a large, independent manufacturer of corrugated cardboard packaging, supplying to a variety of markets throughout the UK.

They are looking to recruit a Structural Designer or Junior / Trainee Designer to join their existing team ideally they are looking for someone who has experience of impact or a similar CAD system.

You will be reporting to the Design Manager. This role is to create structural designs that both meet their customers' expectations and that the company are capable of manufacturing efficiently in their production facilities, the role is office-based working in the Design Team

Responsibilities / Requirements:

  • Creating designs working with customers to understand their brief and deliver a solution that fits the requirement, often working to a deadline
  • Control of documentation through Design process, including First Time Run checking files and issuing tooling costs
  • Assist with & provide proactive advice to the sales team to respond to customer requests
  • Assist the role of the Sample Maker, ensuring samples are made and delivered on time
  • Liaison with Clients, Design Team, Production Team and the Sales Team
  • Ability to provide customer samples to briefs supplied
  • Corrugated / POS experience is preferred but not essential
  • Experience of CAD Software is preferred
  • Ability to prioritise and manage projects and work flow
  • Produce customer samples to agreed lead-times and requirements
  • As part of the design department ensure customer requirements are met
  • Demonstrate flexible attitude and effective problem solving skills
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about design and innovation
