TRAINEE COMMERCIAL EXECUTIVE
LANCASHIRE
£Open (Depending on Experience) + Monday to Thursday: 8am to 5pm / Friday: 8am to 2pm + Pension
Our client is leading printing company based in Lancashire, specialising in B2 / B3 and digital printing, stationery, and business forms. Being part of larger group, they can offer candidates stability and long-term career prospects.
Experience in the printing sector would be advantageous but not essential!
Responsibilities:
- To provide support to the Commercial and Business Development Teams
- This may involve estimating, NCR processing and providing customer service
- To provide support to the Procurement and Finance Team which may involve purchasing from suppliers and outworkers and obtaining quotes for specific items or services
- Raising, placing and receipting of purchase orders
- Work in conjunction with the Procurement team in sourcing services
- Ensuring and maintaining costs for goods and services in Optimus
- Provide admin support to the Equipment Sales teams (approx. 2 hours per day) - this will involve receipt of parts for stock or customer despatch and perform general administration tasks
- When processing an order, monitor order acknowledgements, lead times and convey any relevant information to the client/end user/internal department
- To process enquiries and provide accurate quotations in accordance with company guidelines on rebates, margin levels etc
- When processing orders, carry out order review and process the order right first time
- Information must include details of supplier and signed purchase order for manufactured jobs with outwork and fully traded work
- Handling telephone, internet and e-mail enquiries
- Do everything possible to avoid NCR's
- Process NCR's in a professional and timely fashion
- To be able to compile Management information as required by the business and Clients
- Perform general Office duties such as filing
- Carry out specific project work as required
- Operate within standard Company operating procedures.
- Constantly seek to make continuous improvement to procedures and personal / team operation
- Work as part of team within each department and company structure
- To perform any other duty that may be reasonably required by the company
- To cover for colleagues in reasonable periods of absence, high levels of workload and /or holiday
- To minimise cost and improve margin wherever possible within agreed customer service levels
- May be required to work outside of standard office hours due to client / business needs
Requirements:
- Good technical awareness of the companies capability and that of its supplier base
- Good print, paper and supply base knowledge
- Good knowledge of the print trade, capability of printing presses, capability of the competition
- Good level of numeracy to enable estimating training
- Excellent telephone manner with customer friendly attitude
- Fast and accurate data entry skills
- Attention to detail - essential
- First class customer handling skills
- Ability to communicate in spoken and written form with customer
- Willingness to participate in Customer Meetings where occasional travel may be required
- Basic levels of ability in spreadsheets (Excel), Microsoft Word and E-mail packages
- Ability to communicate in spoken and written form with colleagues, customers and suppliers
- Resilient and able to work under pressure to right deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to work within a team to support colleagues and Company objectives.
