VARIABLE DATA PROGRAMMER - PRINTED COMMUNICATIONS

Salary and Benefits: £Open DOE, Flexible Working, Pension, Health Package, 20 Days Holiday (increasing year on year to 25 days)

Our client are a dynamic communications specialist company based in Surrey, offering digital print and data solutions to a prestigious client base, including major banks and pension providers. Their innovative approach ensures that clients receive tailored, high-quality communications that meet their specific needs. They are now seeking a Variable Data Programmer to join their growing team and will consider experienced candidates or candidates with an interest in data / pre-press looking for their next career step.

As a Variable Data Programmer, you will play a crucial role in the creation and management of personalised data-driven communication materials. You will be responsible for programming and developing variable data projects, ensuring accurate and efficient delivery of customised print and digital communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage variable data print and digital projects using XMPie, Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Excel, along with other relevant programming languages.
  • Collaborate with the design and production teams to integrate data seamlessly into creative layouts.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality control of variable data output, adhering to client specifications and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any programming issues that may arise during the production process.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of processes and projects.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide technical support as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proficiency in XMPie (desirable), Adobe InDesign (essential) and Microsoft Excel (essential), full training can be provided.
  • Experience with other programming languages such as Pageflex or Inspire would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in the print or communications industry is a plus but not essential as full training will be provided.
