Wide Format Machine Operator

We are looking for a wide format operator to work with our HP Latex & dye sub printers. Experience in wide format preferred, training on the job.

This job is a varied role in a fast paced production environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in wide format print and finishing. Working closely with a small team, this individual will carry out the following duties:

• Loading and operating a variety of wide format printers ranging from 1.6m to 3.2m wide (majority HP). 
• Machine maintenance- routine cleaning, troubleshooting print issues, learning to fit basic parts etc.
• Processing and checking files before going to print. 
• Learning to create different material profiles to achieve the best colour results. 
• Participating in meetings with both the artworking and sales team to discuss work or give feedback. 
• Creating RIP image layouts prior to printing to minimise material waste. 
• Updating the job board to track jobs as they move through the different production stages in the warehouse. 
• Helping to keep stock of different materials and machine supplies.
• Handling paperwork and deciding how to distribute work effectively and efficiently between a range of machines- overseeing large run/complicated jobs to completion.
• Operating post-print machinery such as CNC Cutters/Routers, heat presses and different finishing equipment.

The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for problem solving, enjoy working on their feet and getting involved within a busy production atmosphere. 

40hpw: Mon-Fri, 9.00am-5.30pm

Weekend shifts available but not compulsory.
