SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER | PRINT | LONDON OR WEST MIDLANDS (Hybrid) | £NEGOTIABLE ON EXPERIENCE

Our client are looking for a passionate and experienced Sustainability Manager to join them in this newly created position.  The Sustainability Manager is a key role in their organisation responsible for leading and implementing a comprehensive sustainability strategy across the business, aligned with the company’s goals and industry best practices. Working closely with other departments you will assume responsibility for driving environmental action plans and ensuring sustainable print procurement practices. You will also play a key role and contribute to maintaining and enhancing the organisations commitment to ethical, legal and socially responsible business practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Develop and implement comprehensive environmental action plans aligned with ISO14001 standards.
• Stay informed about relevant environmental and sustainability regulations to ensure compliance with all laws and standards.
• Assume responsibility for ensuring that the company stays on track for its carbon net zero targets.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for waste reduction, recycling, and sustainable practices.
• Lead efforts to integrate sustainable development principles into print procurement processes.
• Collaborate with the client services team to influence and align print procurement with environmental and sustainable factors.
• Support the sales team and Bid manager in winning new work by providing expertise within the ESG category for sales opportunities and tenders. This would involve attending customer presentations, contributing to tender and presentation content and ensuring the company remains at the forefront of ESG within the industry.
• Work with the marketing executive to promote the companies achievements in ESG through various media channels.
• Work with the Procurement Manager to evaluate and select suppliers based on their adherence to environmental policies, including FSC/PEFC or ISO14001 accreditation.

ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER:

• Proven experience in sustainability management, preferably within the print or related industry
• Good knowledge of ISO14001 standards and sustainable procurement practices
• Strong understanding of environmental laws and regulations
• Ability to demonstrate experience in engaging and collaborating with suppliers to drive sustainability improvements
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to both internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborative approach and experience influencing key stakeholders
• Proven ability managing sustainability projects from conception to implementation, delivering measurable results
• Passion for sustainability and commitment to drive positive change
• Creative and innovative mindset with proven ability to identify and implement sustainable solutions
